Safe Biological Control
IAPSC seeks to promote and advocate for the use of management strategies that are effective in reducing the impact of pest infestations and infections. The use of biological control and
biological control agents is one such strategy. Biological control is safe to the environment, to man and to non-target organisms and is an effective way of managing pests sustainably.
IAPSC through various fora continues to encourage Member States to utilise and upscale biological control agents that occur naturally and/or are native to each country.
IAPSC in partnership with Member States and various other organizations is in the process of developing an inventory of biological control agents that are effective against a number of economically important pests on the continent as well as those that show potential in pest management.
