National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPO’s) are representatives of plant health issues designated in all countries across Africa. AU-IAPSC works closely with NPPO’s in delivering its mandate of coordinating and providing support to the protection of plant resources across the continent.

In each country, NPPO’s are pivotal in many areas such as inspection, surveillance, certification, regulation, training, and general coordination of Phytosanitary issues. In addition to creating awareness on plant health issues in-country, they also act as a bridge governments and all Phytosanitary stakeholders at both local and international level.
