Regional Plant Protection Organization (RPPO) is an inter-governmental organization responsible for cooperation in plant protection at regional level. An RPPO functions as the coordinating body in the promotion of development and use of relevant international standards for phytosanitary measures. RPPO’s also facilitate inter-regional cooperation in promoting harmonized phytosanitary measures for controlling and preventing pests. IAPSC, as an RPPO for the African region, works closely with the rest of the 9 RPPO’s and IPPC in accomplishing this task.
