2021 IUCN World Conservation Congress
As the natural development of all ecosystems on the planet is entirely dependent on the protection of biodiversity, its protection should be regarded by all as one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century.
Indeed, the constant growth of the population and the even faster increase in consumption are unfortunately arguments used by some leaders to justify the use of harmful practices which favor the destruction of natural resources.
However, Organized every four years, the World Conservation Congress of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will again this year mobilize from September 3 to 11 in the city of Marseille in France thousands of leaders and decision-makers of governments, civil society, indigenous peoples, businesses and universities with a view to discussing the actions and strategies best suited to the preservation of biodiversity in our social and economic context.
Therefore, the AU-IAPSC encourages the representatives of the African continent at this conference to pay particular attention to the progress of each activity.
